Day in the Life of a Nurse - What I Eat?

As a Nurse, I don't always have time to eat during the day. I know it can be a struggle to find things to eat that are healthier, that are quick and easy to eat. I wanted to share with you what I usually bring. Normally, I have my sandwich for lunch.

I always have my shakeology shake either for breakfast or lunch depending on if I was able to grab breakfast.

I always have a zone bar. Chocolate Caramel Cluster is my favorite one.

Pretzels
An apple and 14 almonds is something that's healthy and filling.

Water
Its so important to have your water with you at all times!. I always drink at least 64 oz of water daily and that includes days I work! I know its a lot of water and I constantly have to pee but my body craves water.

What is Beachbody Coaching?

OK...so is this Beachbody Coaching thing legit?? Is it worth my time? Can I make any money doing this? Is this a scam?

So many questions filled my mind when I reached out to my friend about what shakeology was and the difference between p90x and insanity. After she heard my story, she asked me if I would want to coach. The business aspect scared me a bit. I am not in "sales", I am a nurse....we don't do sales, WE SAVE LIVES! I never owned my own business. Could I own my own business? Was this for me? Could I do it??

If you have even wondered about coaching well here it is...I am here to answer your questions and to show you that YES you can make good/great money with Beachbody. It is not a scam and you do not have to be a sales man, nutritionist or fitness expert.

But you can decide this for yourself....

~Beachbody Coach, A Little Background~

Beachbody was founded in 1998, where they sold fitness DVD's on infomercials. Then in 2004 "coaching" was introduced into the mix. Beachbody realized that they needed to bridge the gap between customers buying the DVD's and then actually completing them. This is what a coach is for.

A coach runs a homebased business helping others obtain their health and fitness goals. They do this by various in-home workouts and nutritonal products that Beachbody has created. (insanity. P90X, P90X2, Body Beast, Turbo Fire, Shakeology, P90X Results and Recovery Formula, E&E, etc.). Listen to what the Chairman and CEO of beachbody, Carl Daikeler, has to say about coaching:

As a coach, you receive a 25% discount on all products, and you make 25% commission on all products sold. Along with this commission you also earn bonuses for growing your coach team, just like a personal trainer in the gym. You earn other bonuses and prizes, such as free trips and awards for helping your team be successful.

~The Way It Works~

YES, this is Multi-Level-Marketing. YES, it is set up like a pyramid. But what most people don't know, is that a true pyramid scheme is illegal. A pyramid is illegal if their is no exchange of goods for money. As a coach, one does not make any money if their coaches don't buy or sell anything.

Moreover, with a pyramid scheme, you can not get ahead of the person who signed you. But as a coach, you have the opportunity to make more money and be more sufessful than the person who signed you! Your success is controlled only by yourself and your efforts. As a coach, you are working for yourself, you are not building anyone's dreams but your own!

~Can One Make Money With Beachbody?~

YES! But just like any job or business, it takes time and effort. There is no money tree and there is no quick fix to earning tons of money overnight. You may not make a ton of money when you first start especially for the amount of work you will be doing, but if you continue to work hard and grow your business, you will start to see your income rise and a snowball effect will take place!

~Pros & Cons~

~Cost Breakdown (Like I said, NOTHING IS HIDDEN)~

When you sign up as a coach you will have 2 costs.
1.) $39.95- sign up fee. this pays for your starter kit, access to your online office and 3 websites
NOTE: this fee is waived if you purchase a challenge pack
2.) $97.46- Cost of your first bag of Shakeology. I always tell my new coaches to, at least, start out on shakeology when they start because it is hard to sell a product they are not on!!

Now, for the Challenge Pack option I mentioned in "cost 1". The Challenge Packs range from $140-$245, depending on what fitness program that you select. With a Challenge Pack, you get your choice of fitness program (T25, Insanity, P90X, Body Beast, Turbo Fire, etc) and a months supply of Shakeology, a 30 Day free trial of the Club Membership, your sign up fee is WAIVED, and FREE SHIPPING! WOW!

Let me break it down a little more....If you choose to only start on shakeology you are looking at $39.95 (sign up fee) plus $97.46 (shakeology) which equals $137.41. For $3.00 more you could have a Fitness Program. You tell me which sounds like a better deal!

~Monthly Costs~

Now as a coach we have 2 ongoing expenses. They are as follows
1. $15.95/ month starting in the second month of your business. This fee is for your websites you get when you sign up. Beachbody will maintain, fix, and update your websites on a daily basis, this fee covers that.
2. $97.46 for your monthly order of Shakeology and to maintain an "ACTIVE" status. I am looking for active coaches, coaches who love the products and/or want to build a business. In order to remain an "ACTIVE" coach one must purchase or sell 50 PV (personal volume) worth of produces each month. Shakeology alone each month covers this. You can learn more about Shakeology HERE

~To My Readers~

If you have any interest in building an amazing team and start making your dreams a reality, I would love to talk to you more about joining my team. I am currently looking for self motivated people who have a love for health, fitness, and helping others. Feel free to email me at nkeating24@comcast.net and facebook message me at www.facebook.com/afitchicknamednick

Heart-y Blueberry Oatmeal Muffins

Last weekend while I was at the Dream Team Retreat, I made these Healthy Heart-y Blueberry Oatmeal Muffins and they were a hit. Everyone loved them!

Makes 12
♥ 2 1/2 cups gluten free, old-fashioned rolled oats*
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
♥ 1/4 cup chopped Almonds
1/4 cup applesauce
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1 egg
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
♥ 2 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen (Would be yummy with apples, pears, or berries too!)**

1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Place liners in muffin tins.2. Combine oats, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, almonds and blueberries in a bowl.
3. Whisk together applesauce, almond milk, egg, and maple syrup in a small bowl. Pour into dry ingredients. (NOTE: the “batter” will almost seem soupy. There is no flour to absorb the liquid. Don’t panic, the oats will soak it all up while it’s baking.)
4. Fill lined muffin tins 2/3 full with batter.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until muffins are golden brown on top.
6. Allow to cool a bit before serving. You can store these in the fridge in an air tight container. To freeze, allow muffins to cool completely then store in air tight container in the freezer.
Enjoy!
*Non-gluten free oats can be used if available and you’re not avoiding gluten for health reasons.
**The fruit will naturally sweeten the muffins. If you find you want them sweeter, try adding up to 1-2 tablespoons stevia but we enjoy them with just the fruit.

Fat Girl to Fit Chick

My weight loss journey started June 1, 2011 when I started Weight Watchers. I was unhappy with myself, couldn't look in the mirror without truly being disgusted with who I saw, I was uncomfortable in my own skin and I just needed to change. I wanted to better myself and be happy again.

Before My Journey Began (2011)
When I first started out on my weight loss journey, I set a goal of losing 50 pounds. Over the course of the next 6 months, I had reached my goal, and lost 50 pounds by December 2011. I was so proud of myself. I had this new sense of confidence that I did not have previously. My new goal was to maintain the weight loss. When I was in high school, I also used Weight Watchers and I had lost about 25 pounds but then when I went off to College, I did not continue with it and thus gained weight back. I was partying and not eating the healthiest of food, and over 4 years, I packed on the pounds.

Over the next 4 months while I was training for my first triathlon, I lost 20 more pounds. I was ecstatic because I just kept feeling better. I was exercising daily, I ended up starting to run (in the past I was never a runner..NEVER). Now if you were to tell me back in 2011 that I would have been competing in a triathlon, I would have laughed in your face and said "Yea, ok, GOOD JOKE!"

In September 2012, I competed in the Woman's Danskin Triathlon in Sandy Hook, NJ. The experience was amazing. I ended up coming in 8th overall in the swim out of over 1200 women who were competing. Not only was I proud of this huge accomplishment but I wanted to compete in another. For those of you triathletes out there, you know what I am talking about...the adrenaline, the atmosphere, the competition, the pushing yourself to the breaking point, the struggle, the glory, and the victory.

Over the course of the next 7 months, I trained harder for my next triathlon. In May 2013, I competed in my second triathlon the Red Bank Tri, in Red Bank, NJ. This triathlon was a longer distance one than my first and I have to say, my swim and bike parts of the race went well but when I jumped off the bike and started the run, I was so winded and struggled. I finished the race but was not happy with my results. I was exercising daily and eating healthy but that just was not doing it.

In June 2013, I decided that I wanted to start either Insanity or P90x. I had followed someones transformation that I had grown up with. I saw the amazing results she had seen through doing Insanity and using Shakeology. After talking to her, I decided to become a Beachbody Coach and help others. I started p90x and using shakeology. For those of you who do not know, shakeology is a daily meal replacement that gets you the healthy nutrients that you need in your day. I saw amazing results from P90x. I lost inches from my waste and started to gain muscles and tone up. I think started Focus T25 and using my daily shakeology and I saw even more amazing results.

The New Me 2013

Now, five months after starting my journey with Beachbody, I can honestly say that I am in the BEST shape of my life. I am stronger than ever. I am so excited to see where this new journey of being a Fit Chick takes me. I am no where near where I want to be but there is always room to grow.

Along the way from going a Fat Girl to a Fit Chick, I set new goals and now my new goal and dream is to compete in an IRONMAN TRIATHLON. This is the mother of all triathlons but I am excited and nervous for the journey. Stay posted for my journey.
