Results of the 3 Day Shakeology Cleanse

Day 1:


I started the first day off with having a large cup of green tea. I thought that the cleanse was going to be a piece of cake and the three days would go by like nothing...well was I in for a rude awakening. following my lovely cup of tea, I did my T25 workout. I followed up my T25 workout with my first shake of the day. I mixed my vanilla shakeology with 10 oz of water and a ½ cup of frozen fruit and blended it. Then I had another shake with just 10 oz of water and vanilla shakeology. In the afternoon, I had a glass of green tea and an apple. Then right before dinner, I had my last shake same as I did in the afternoon. For dinner, I had a large salad with chicken. It was so delicious. The first day was very hard. I couldn’t stop thinking about food. but i stuck to it!

Day 2:


Waking up on the second day, I lost 2 pounds. YAY! The second day was a little easier than the first. started off the day with my first shake with vanilla shakeology with 10oz of water. Not only did I lose 8 pounds but I also feel less bloated, I feel healthier, and I am ready to take on the new challenges I have set for myself!

Healthy Pasta Salad

I am not a fan of mayonnaise based pasta salads. I know that it is fall and who wants to be thinking about pasta salad, since its mainly a spring and summer dish but this past weekend, I made this for the Dream Team Coach Retreat.






Ingredients:

Veggie Pasta or Wheat Pasta (I used both Veggie pasta with zucchini and cucumber puree in it and Wheat pasta)
Celery
Carrots
Olives
Olive Oil
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder


Directions:

1. Cook pasta as directed on the box.
2. Cut up celery into small pieces
3. Chop or Shave carrots
4. Cut olives into slices
5. Mix pasta with celery, carrots, olives in a large bowl
6. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder (sprinkle on - to taste)
7. Add olive oil. (until pasta is lightly coated)

Serve cold and ENJOY!




Peanut Butter Fudge Power Bars


This past weekend, I was at the Dream Team Coach Retreat. I made this healthy snack and it was a total hit. If you love Peanut Butter, this is for you! :)

Ingredients:
1 16 oz Jar Natural Creamy Peanut Butter
1 1/4 Cup Natural Honey
2 scoops 100% Natural Whey Protein Powder
3 Cups Rolled Oats


Directions:
1. Heat peanut butter in the microwave for 90 seconds.

2. Add in honey, stir.
3. Mix in protein powder.
4. Combine oats with peanut butter mixture.
5. Spread evenly in 9×13″ pan, and refrigerate for at least an hour.
6. Cut into 1 1/2″ squares, and enjoy!





Each 1 1/2″ fudge square has: 110 calories, 5 grams of fat, 12.5 grams of carbs, and 5.5 grams of protein.

Fat Girl to Fit Chick

My weight loss journey started June 1, 2011 when I started Weight Watchers. I was unhappy with myself, couldn't look in the mirror without truly being disgusted with who I saw, I was uncomfortable in my own skin and I just needed to change. I wanted to better myself and be happy again.

When I first started out on my weight loss journey, I set a goal of losing 50 pounds. Over the course of the next 6 months, I had reached my goal, and lost 50 pounds by December 2011. I was so proud of myself. I had this new sense of confidence that I did not have previously. My new goal was to maintain the weight loss. When I was in high school, I also used Weight Watchers and I had lost about 25 pounds but then when I went off to College, I did not continue with it and thus gained weight back. I was partying and not eating the healthiest of food, and over 4 years, I packed on the pounds. 

Over the next 4 months while I was training for my first triathlon, I lost 20 more pounds. I was ecstatic because I just kept feeling better. I was exercising daily, I ended up starting to run (in the past I was never a runner..NEVER). Now if you were to tell me back in 2011 that I would have been competing in a triathlon, I would have laughed in your face and said "Yea, ok, GOOD JOKE!"

In September 2012, I competed in the Woman's Danskin Triathlon in Sandy Hook, NJ. The experience was amazing. I ended up coming in 8th overall in the swim out of over 1200 women who were competing. Not only was I proud of this huge accomplishment but I wanted to compete in another. For those of you triathletes out there, you know what I am talking about...the adrenaline, the atmosphere, the competition, the pushing yourself to the breaking point, the struggle, the glory, and the victory.

Over the course of the next 7 months, I trained harder for my next triathlon. In May 2013, I competed in my second triathlon the Red Bank Tri, in Red Bank, NJ. This triathlon was a longer distance one than my first and I have to say, my swim and bike parts of the race went well but when I jumped off the bike and started the run, I was so winded and struggled. I finished the race but was not happy with my results. I was exercising daily and eating healthy but that just was not doing it. 

In June 2013, I decided that I wanted to start either Insanity or P90x. I had followed someones transformation that I had grown up with. I saw the amazing results she had seen through doing Insanity and using Shakeology. After talking to her, I decided to become a Beachbody Coach and help others. I started p90x and using shakeology. Now, five months after starting my journey with Beachbody, I can honestly say that I am in the BEST shape of my life. I am stronger than ever. I am so excited to see where this new journey of being a Fit Chick takes me. I am no where near where I want to be but there is always room to grow. 

Along the way from going a Fat Girl to a Fit Chick, I set new goals and now my new goal and dream is to compete in an IRONMAN TRIATHLON. This is the mother of all triathlons but I am excited and nervous for the journey. Stay posted for my journey.
